Volunteer Travel
As you look to the side, a pair of medium-size brown birds fly purposefully past the vehicle, constantly calling their haunting “Ki-ki-keeu.”
"What birds are these? " you ask.
"These are sandgrouse flying to a waterhole to drink. The waterhole can be as far as 20 miles away. After taking a few sips they’ll fly all the way back to their feeding area or nest. The males wet their breast feathers and carry the water droplets back to their chicks to drink. This is the only bird that can do that," your tour guide explains.
A fascinating observation and there is more to come as we drive along.
We offer two exciting options for you to be involved with wildlife conservation. Volunteering is typically designed for young people who would like to travel, contribute to conservation by working at a local organization and experience a foreign country in a pre-arranged setting. Volunteer travel on the other hand is for people who would like to travel and at the same time acquire some experience of conservation work being done by visiting organizations and projects. Your visit will contribute towards the conservation of wildlife.
