Sample Itinerary

Days 1 & 2

Kwara Camp
On arrival in Maun, you'll clear customs and meet up with your tour representatives. You are then flown to Kwara Camp in the 438,000 acre private Kwara Concession in the northern part of the Okavango Delta and bordering Moremi Game Reserve. Activities at this lodge include game drives, night drives, boat rides and bush walks ensuring a true African wilderness experience. (D)

   
Day 3 & 4

Savuti Safari Lodge
From Kwara we will be flown to the Savuti Safari Lodge in the Chobe National Park. This camp is situated along the now dry Savuti channel renowned for its large concentration of elephant and lion. The lodge and your private deck overlook a waterhole that is frequently being visit by the local wildlife. During our stay we will participate in daily game drives in open safari vehicles in the Savuti area including the Savute Marsh, and a visit to the ancient San rock paintings at Gubatsa Hills. Day 5 & 6

Deception Valley Lodge
We will fly to the Deception Valley Lodge in the remote Kalahari Desert where Bushmen once roamed. Game drives in this arid savanna will give you an opportunity to see the local wildlife such as various antelope and predator species. A bushwalk with bushmen trackers, master survivors of this thirstland who will share their knowledge of the Kalahari is a unique bush experience. (BLD)

   
Day 7

Maun
You depart your lodge after breakfast and fly by light aircraft to Maun. Here your safari ends and you fly back to Johannesburg. (B)

   


Namibia Fly-in Safari

This tour gives you a bird’s eye view of the spectacular landscapes of Namibia, from the lush sub-tropical Eastern Caprivi with its crystal clear rivers and woodlands to the expansive sand dunes of the southern Namib Desert. En-route we will fly over the huge Etosha National Park and the breathtaking mountain landscapes of Damaraland.

Sample Itinerary

Day 1

Windhoek
Arrive at the Windhoek airport in the early evening where you will be met by your guides. We will stay the first night at the luxurious Windhoek Country Club Resort. Dinner will be on own account.

   
Days 2 & 3

Lianshulu Lodge
Leaving from the nearby Eros airport we will fly in the morning to Lianshulu Lodge. There we will be met by a guide and transported to the lodge where we will stay for two nights. The lodge is situated inside the Mudumu National Park overlooking the pristine Kwando River. Activities on offer at the lodge are wildlife viewing in the Mudumu National Park from open vehicles, guided morning walks through the bush that offer an excellent opportunity to learn more about the natural history, boat excursions and sunset cruises on the Kwando River. Wildlife species found in this area are elephant, buffalo, lion, various antelope species, hippo, crocodiles and many bird species. Alternatively you can relax on your deck overlooking the meandering river, soaking up the tranquility. (BLD)

   
Days 4 & 5

Onguma Lodge
After breakfast we will fly west to the Onguma Lodge, situated on the eastern side of Etosha, bordering Fisher’s Pan. The 50,000 acre private reserve boasts virtually all species found in the adjoining Etosha National Park and is one of Namibia’s best kept secrets. The variety of vegetation types, ranging from savanna, omuramba to pans support a large diversity of animal and bird life. Enjoy daily game drives on this wildlife rich reserve. As an additional option, you can also participate in a nature drive into Etosha National Park where you will be afforded the opportunity of viewing many animals and birds at the various waterholes providing fantastic photographic opportunities. Day 6

Palmwag Lodge
Leaving Onguma Lodge we will fly west over the huge Etosha National Park towards Damaraland. Palmwag Lodge is situated on the edge of the northern Namib Desert, home to the famous desert elephants and black rhino. Relax in this idyllic setting overlooking a nearby waterhole with the possibility of seeing some local wildlife. (BLD)

   
Day 7 & 8

Sossusvlei Lodge
We will fly over the magnificent mountain landscape to Swakopmund on the Atlantic Coast to refuel and to enjoy a short lunch break. After lunch we will continue towards Sossusvlei Lodge traversing the endless plains and spectacular dune fields of the southern Namib Desert. Sossusvlei is world famous for its high dunes and a day trip into the desert will give you an excellent insight into the unique desert ecology. The dune fields interspersed with dry pans also offer magnificent photographic opportunities. (BLD)

   
Day 9

Sossusvlei Lodge - Windhoek
In the morning we will fly back to Windhoek and you will be dropped off at the airport in time for your departure to Johannesburg. Return flights to the USA typically leave in the early evening from Johannesburg. Lunch will be on your own account.
