Vicinity of Johannesburg

Pilanesberg National Park

Day Trip
Depart from your hotel at 6:30am for brunch at Pilanesberg. A full day of game viewing in a reserve that boasts Africa's Big Five.  Brunch included. Return to your hotel at 6:00pm. Travelling time to Pilanesberg is less than 2 hours.

2 Day Trip
A 2 day trip to the Pilanesberg N.P. with one overnight at a lodge.

De Wildt Cheetah Breeding Center
The breeding station was established in 1971 with the purpose of saving this and other endangered species. A lecture is given on arrival. Learn more about the King cheetah, followed by a full tour of the breeding station. Return to your hotel. Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday only.

Cradle of Humankind
This half day tour entails a visit to the 2200 million year old Sterkfontein caves. Descend 40m into the cave, described as one of the most beautiful in South Africa. This was where the remains of early hominids were discovered, particularly the 2.15 million year old skull of ‘Mrs Ples’, excavated by Dr Robert Broom and John T Robinson in April 1947. Visit Maropeng, where you can enjoy multi-media and special effects presentations on the origins of mankind, and even take a boat ride on an underground lake.

Lesedi Cultural Village
This multi-cultural African village is set amongst pristine bushveld and rocky hills. Situated at Lesedi are four traditional homesteads of the Zulu, Xhosa, Pedi and Basotho tribes. Your cultural experience commences with a traditional welcome and tour of the homesteads followed by an exciting tribal dance display. A feast of ethnic dishes from South Africa ends the tour.


Vicinity of Cape Town

Table Mountain and Robben Island
Ascend to the top of Table Mountain by cable car and  enjoy a panoramic view of the city, Table Bay, Robben Island and parts of the Atlantic seaboard. Visit Robben Island where Nelson Mandela was incarcerated, a 30 minute ride by ferry.

Cape Point
This magnificent nature tour of "The Fairest Cape in the World", presents unparalleled photo opportunities.
Highlights include:

  • Hout Bay - optional boat cruise to Seal Island
  • Spectacular Chapman's Peak - a drive along the edge of infinity
  • Penguins at the Boulders - available only during the breeding season
  • Cape Point - where the two oceans are said to meet

Winelands
Tour the beautiful winelands, visit wine estates and local towns amidst lush, mountain scenery.

  • A cellar tour and wine tasting at one of the wine estates
  • The historical town of Stellenbosch
  • The (French) Huguenot Monument and Museum

All day trips depart daily on demand, except where otherwise specified. Tours will run with 1 person. Pick-up time varies depending on the day trip, but is typically before 7:00am.
